FAQ
How are the points counted?
With the standard English tile values: A, E, I, O, U, L, N, S, T, R = 1; D, G = 2; B, C, M, P = 3; F, H, V, W, Y = 4; K = 5; J, X = 8; Q, Z = 10. A blank tile scores 0. Double and triple squares on the board are not included.
Do “starts with” and “ends with” use my tiles?
No. They are letters already on the board. With the tiles AERST and “ends with” ING you get words like STARING and STING. Every word still uses at least one of your tiles.
Are all these words allowed in Scrabble?
Most common English words are. Names of people and places are left out. If you are not sure about a word in a game, check it in the official Scrabble dictionary your group uses.
Does it work for Words With Friends?
Yes, you can use it to find words. The points shown are Scrabble points; Words With Friends uses slightly different tile values.
Is the Scrabble word finder free?
Yes, it is free, with no sign-up. The tiles you type stay in your browser.
