FAQ
What is an anagram?
An anagram is a word made by moving the letters of another word around. STARE, TEARS, RATES and ASTER all use the same five letters.
Can I use it for crossword anagram clues?
Yes. Cryptic clues often hide an anagram of some of their words. Type those letters here to see which words they make, then check the length in brackets.
What does the ? do?
A ? stands for any letter. You can use up to three of them, for example if you are not sure of a letter or have a blank tile in a word game.
Why are some words missing?
The list has common English words in US and UK spelling. Names of people and places, and very rare words, are left out on purpose.
Is the anagram solver free?
Yes, it is free, with no sign-up. The letters you type stay in your browser.
