How to use the crossword solver
- Type the clueWrite the clue as it is printed, for example “Happy feeling”. If the puzzle shows the length in brackets, you can type it too: Happy (5).
- Choose the number of lettersOpen the list and pick the number of squares in your puzzle. Leave it on “Any length” if you are not sure.
- Fill in the letters you knowType each letter you already have into its square. Leave the other squares empty.
- Press “Find answers”The best answers to the clue come first. Below them are other words that fit your letters.

Is this crossword solver free?
Yes. The solver, the clue dictionary and the word lists are free, with no sign-up.
Does it work for British, Australian and American crosswords?
Yes. The word list has both spellings (colour and color, theatre and theater) and many phrases used in UK, Australian and US puzzles.
What if I only know some of the letters?
Choose the number of letters, type the ones you know into their squares and leave the rest empty. You can leave the clue empty too — you will get every word that fits.
How do I enter an answer with two words?
Count all the letters together. For a clue marked (3,4), choose 7 letters. Answers with more than one word are shown with a space.
Can I make the letters even bigger?
Yes. Hold Ctrl and press + on a computer, or pinch the screen on a phone or tablet. The page grows with you.
